Cumberwell junior finishes 2nd in Abrahams Trophy
11 year old junior member
Laura Curtis (Handicap 20) qualified for the Abrahams Trophy by getting her handicap down to 20 in just a year!
The Abrahams Trophy is a national event in which the most improved junior girl golfers are invited to play and it took place at Royal Cromer Golf Club, Norfolk on Tuesday.
Laura, who recently moved to Cumberwell from Whitley has spent a lot of time working with Ben and has really improved! She carded a nett 76, 2 over par in tough conditions finishing in a tie for 2nd just one shot back from the eventual winner.
She won the South West region and is now looking forward to representing Wiltshire at the Inter Counties event this month! Well done Laura, a huge achievement at just 11 years old!!
Men's Club Championships - enter in Proshop
The entry list is now up in the Proshop for the Men's Club Championship. The two day event will be played On Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th of August. We can also enter your name on the phone if you're unable to make it up to the club 01225 862332. Entry is £15.00 payable on the day.
SPECIAL OFFER - PRO V1'S!!!
With the Club Championships looming, we have a special on a limited number of Titleist Pro V1's and Pro V1 X's!! Normally £40 per dozen or £12.50 a sleeve, these balls have 'Club Champs' printed on and are just £35 per dozen. Get them while they're available because they won't last long!
Proshop overhaul progressing well!
As you would have noticed the shop fit is moving forward and we nearly have the equipment corner finished. The light boxes and plinths were installed last week and once the electrics are put in, the equipment will really stand out!
In addition to this, new carpet will run through the entire shop by the end of the week, with the slat walling being changed over the next couple of weeks also.
The shop fit will eventually give us more space and better displays, allowing us to stock more products and make the shopping experience much better!
SUMMER BALL @ CUMBERWELL PARK - FRIDAY 14TH AUGUST
We have a Black tie Summer Ball event here at Cumberwell on Friday 14th August. With a 7:15pm for 8:00pm start, the evening kicks off with Pimms & Canapés in the celebration garden and a buffet from 8pm. The evening's entertainment is provided by Purple Fish and is going to be a great event. Tickets are priced at £28 per person and are purchased from reception.
Club members Martin Cooper and Mark Hobbs are back on their bikes again this weekend as they take part in the Prudential RideLondon 100 mile event on Sunday.
Both will be cycling for Beating Bowel Cancer in the cycling equivalent of the London Marathon. please click here to donate.
We have scheduled four Junior Fun Day's for this years summer holidays and are always very popular. The dates we have booked in are
Tuesday 4th August - 10am - 3pm

Tuesday 18th August - 10am - 3pm
Tuesday 25th August - 10am - 3pm
Each day is priced at £27.50 and you can book in for as many as you would like to attend. The coaching days will cover some long and short game coaching, lunch in the clubhouse followed by a few holes on the course. Pick up a form in the ProShop, or call 01225 862332 to book.
