Titleist Trial Event - This Friday 17th April 2pm - 6pm
2015 has seen Titleist release by far their best line up of metal woods to date, with products to suit not just the better player, but improver golfers also. We have had great success on club fittings with metal woods from the new 915 range!!
In addition to our full range of fitting clubs already available, we now have the opportunity for members, guests & visitors to come up on Friday, 17 April between 2pm & 6pm and try for yourself on the driving range, no appointment necessary and no obligation.
On the day there will be an expert Titleist Custom Fitter available to help put the correct product in your hands, a GC2 launch monitor along with our Trackman and Pro's to help out also.

Callaway Club Fitting Day - Saturday 20th June 2015
After the strength of our first Callaway Fitting Day we have a Saturday booked in for Saturday 20th June ALL DAY!! Now as you know, we have a huge collection of Demo product in Callaway all year round, but on the fitting day's there is always a little more choice in shafts plus the added benefit of having a Callaway technician on hand to guide you to the best custom fir set up for your swing.

Captain's Roll Up - Starts Friday 1st May!!
The Captain's Roll up is back for 2015 and starting up again on Friday evenings with tee times starting from 5:30pm. The roll up runs weekly on Fridays until September. It is a great way to meet new people and have a quick, fun and competitive nine holes for just a £2 entry, payable in the shop on arrival. There is an accumulative competition over the summer with prizes paid in handicap divisions. Be great to have another big crowd playing regularly. See you there.
Huge entry into Cifer singles - Saturday!
Last weekend saw one of our biggest ever entries into the Cifer singles on Saturday with 129 men (including a few juniors) taking part. With faster greens and more wind than expected, the scoring turned out to be really tricky and this reflected in the CSS going up to 74!! Only two guys managed to beat their handicap, with Dave Elkin (nett 70) finishing second to our winner Gary Thorpe who carded a nett 68. Well done Gary!
Maunder & Matthews eclipse Spieth's dominance on Sunday with massive Cifer win!
It goes without saying that Jordan Spieth's dominance in this year's season opener was pretty special, but we had an equally dominant showing here at cumberwell on Sunday with Richard Maunder (2) and Paul Matthews (2) storming away with the Cifer Pairs competition with 44 points in very string winds!! There score was good enough for a 3 shot victory over the other 45 pairs!! In second place was the pair of Des Gingell & Ian Clements with the only other score in the 40's with 41 points. Thanks all for a great event!

The St. George's Trophy is next Saturday, 25 April and a pairs betterball event open to ALL members, men, women and mixed pairs may enter. There is an entry list on the notice boards, so be sure to get your entries in this weekend before the draw which will take place on Tuesday.

Fancy A Grip Change… We've noticed over the last few weeks an increase in the number of oversize putter grips that we have been fitting, partly because of the huge selection that we have in stock, but there does seem to be a trend on tour with players installing grips like the SuperStroke and Winn grips on their favoured putter!!
The concept is that a larger grip can help to lighten grip pressure and stop the hands getting too active during the putting stroke, but ultimately it comes down to feel! Companies like Odyssey & TaylorMade are even installing oversize grips on their putters as standard.
Come in and have a look at our selection of grips on display and if you fancy a try, we can fit one while you wait.

An advance notification that we have another shoe fitting day booked in from FootJoy on Saturday, 13 June. We will again have another FJ shoe specialist with an incredible array of different types of shoes, sizes and widths to help you with the perfect pair of shoes.
Cumberwell Quiz Night - Friday, 24 April
Back by popular demand, Cumberwell is hosting another Quiz night on Friday, 24 April starting at 7:00pm. Teams of 6 will pay just £8.00 per person and includes a choice of Curry or Lasagne.
