Welcome to another edition of our newsletter, in this week’s mail we invite you to the upcoming Club Championships, our ‘Learn to play golf’ lessons get underway next week, and there are still spaces to play in some Pro-Ams. Enjoy the read!

Club Championships

The men’s Club Championships is coming up in a few weeks’ time on Saturday 17th & Sunday 18th August and is open to all male members with a competition handicap. The 36 hole Strokeplay event carries gross, nett and divisional prizes and is played form the Red & Yellow course from the Green tees. To enter either call us in the ProShop or enter in intelligent golf.

Coaching news

Learn to play golf lessons starting in August!

We have a ‘Learn to play golf’ class starting on Wednesday 7th August at 6pm. The class runs for 4 weeks and is priced at £40. Each participant will receive a free 7 iron. If you know anyone who is likely to be interested then please contact the shop or contact Alex Jacobs directly on alexjacobs99@gmail.com.

Junior Fun Days

We have scheduled five Junior Fun Days for the Summer Holidays. As normal, the days cover all aspects of the game, lunch in the clubhouse and some afternoon course time. Running between 10am and 3pm, and at a cost of £27.50, they are great days. This year’s dates are:

Tuesday 30th July
Tuesday 6th August
Tuesday 13th August
Tuesday 20th August
Tuesday 27th August

Do you fancy playing in a PGA West Region Pro-Am this year?

Assistant professional Luke Ayrton is providing you the opportunity to play in some Pro Am competitions this summer. The events on the schedule include:

Broadstone Golf Club – Friday 16th August 2019
Ross-On-Wye Golf Club – Thursday 29th August 2019
Minchinhampton Golf Club (New) – Friday 30th August 2019
Chippenham Golf Club - Monday 16th September 2019
Enmore Park Golf Club – Friday 20th September 2019

Teams are typically three amateurs accompanying a pro at an approximate cost of £250 per event (around £85 per person), including food, prizes and a great day to play another course in the region.

1 gap, 2 gap, 3 gap, FORE!

How confident are you hitting your long irons? The lack of forgiveness can lead to inconsistent strikes and less distance. This is when filling the gaps at the top end of your bag with utility irons or hybrids could be the smartest decision you ever make – but which is right for you?

A ball for every occasion

Let’s be honest: we're greedy when it comes to our golf ball, and rightly so. We don’t want to have to choose between distance or feel; instead, we want a ball that offers us the lot.

Picture the scenario
