Cifer weekend! With a busy weekend, we had some great entries into both the singles and pairs Cifer events. It took a brilliant score of 41 points from Jon Taylor to beat Harold Bird into second place on 39 points. The scoring was clearly tough with only nine guys beating their handicap out of 106 entries! Sunday saw milder conditions and it took countback to separate the top two pairs. Eventual winners were Shaun Hitchcock & Simon Blakeley who on 44 points beat Mike Hiskens & Russell Whatley on the back nine. Great scoring on Sunday!

Additional temporary local rule… If a player’s ball lies in or touches an aeration hole on a putting green, the player may take relief under rule 16.1D. This means that you can move the ball out the aeration hole, no nearer the hole, as close as possible to its original postion. This is a temporary rule that is in action whilst the greens are recovering from tining.

A driver is a powerful beast, sometimes too powerful if a hole has a hazard within range. In this scenario, you have a plethero of options to choose from, but there is one that is often overlooked. |
Picture the scene You're stood on a par-4 tee box and there’s a water hazard 240 yards away. What do you do? Many of you will reach for your longest iron on auto-pilot, however a custom-fitted fairway wood might just be the perfect solution; getting you further down the hole and closer to the green. | |
|
Why is this often overlooked? A lot of golfers don't have confidence in hitting their fairway wood because, quite simply, they don't use it enough. But with technology to help you hit them better - such as a Tungsten weight in PING's G410 fairway wood that increases forgiveness - it's time you gave them another go. |
Custom fitting is key We're delighted to see so many of you come to us for a custom fit when you're after a new driver or set of irons, but why does it stop there? A custom fitting is so important in ensuring you get the most from any new purchase, whether that's a driver, fairway wood or putter. |
