Nigel Laughton takes top spot in closest race to medallist yet! The race to the medallist came to a finale on Saturday with a medal open to just the top 50 of the final order of merit, points were reset based on their final position and it was all to play for. Alex Fereday went into the final event in top spot, but it was Nigel Laughton who managed to take the trophy, beating Tony Rees into 2nd place by a mere 50 points. As you can see, the final event saw lots of movement, up’s and down’s so congratulations to the top 10, who all pick up some bonus prize money! Thanks to Plumbase, Bath for their sponsorship of the Race to the Medallist again this year.

Toby Clark takes his third Academy Championships! Our Junior academy also ended at the weekend, with 37 players taking part in our end of year Academy Championships. The weather cleared up just in time and we had some fantastic scores with just one shot separating the top 3. The competition was played on the first 6 holes on the Orange nine from the ladies tees. Kai Hitchcock who’s improved brilliantly this year, particularly in the Wiltshire Golf development tour, came joint second with Harry Burton shooting a gross 23, level par!! However, it was 11 year old Toby Clark who continues to impress, winning for a third time in a row with a 1 under par 22! Impressive stuff from all three boys. We also had lots of prizes to give out from the year’s event, so it was great to see so many juniors and parents at the prizegiving!! The future of junior golf at Cumberwell continues to look very promising indeed, well done everyone.

When you step onto the tee with a driver in hand, there are two thoughts in most golfers' minds: "Hit it far, and hit it straight". Both of these were easier said than done, until Titleist released its new TS2 and TS3 drivers earlier this year... |
Both of these drivers are designed to bring more speed to your game, which results in greater distance. It's as simple as that. The Titleist TS2 is all about forgiveness. In fact, it has the highest MOI that Titleist has ever produced, which means it's more resistant to twisting at impact, for longer and straighter shots. However, if you have a consistent miss with your drives, the TS3 will be perfect for you as we can set it up to counter your destructive shot. With two models to choose from, it's more important than ever to come and see us for a custom fitting. What numbers will you be putting up on the Titleist board? |
