Competition news

Club Championship entry list now up!

Entries are now being taken for the Men’s Club Championships on the Intelligent golf members area. Simply visit ‘upcoming’ competitions and sign in for Round 1, and it’s as easy as that.

Again, players will be competiting for both the men’s gross and nett club championships, so we are encouraging entries from all handicap divisions as there is always something to play for!

Played over 36 holes (18 holes each day) over the Red & Yellow courses from the green tees, it’s always a big event!

If you are not signed up to intelligent golf, speak to us in the proshop, and we can enter you.

Intelligent golf members area now up and running

All members have now been notified of how to join the all new Members area! Each member will have received an email of how to do so. All areas are now accessible, to check results, handicaps, scores, fixtures and more. If you have any queries on the new system then please contact the shop on 01225 862332.

Live leaderboards

During qualifying competitions, we will run live leaderborads which will be viewable online whilst the competition is running.

Junior news

Junior Fun Days

We have scheduled four junior fun days for the summer holidays, these dates are:

Tuesday 7th August
Monday 13th August
Tuesday 21st August
Tuesday 28th August

The coaching days run between 10am and 3pm and cover range and short game, lunch in the clubhouse and some on course time in the afternoon. Costing £27.50 per person including lunch, spaces are limited, so to book, please give us a call on 01225 862332.

Junior Roll-up sessions

We have now added a Sunday Junior Roll up session from 11am to 12pm. This is in addition to our Saturday sessions at 10am and 3pm. The lesson lasts for 1 hour and is priced at only £5. No experience or equipment is needed. If you’d like anymore information please call the Proshop on 01225 862332.

Danger!

Are you the type of golfer who considers the danger ahead of you and plans accordingly, or do you pull a driver from the bag on every par-4 and par-5 without a blink? If you’re the latter then you need to read on.

Consider the danger
You hear pros talk a lot about the ‘smart shot’ in their post-round interviews. If you’re on the tee and there’s a bunker, ditch or other hazard around the distance that your driver or fairway wood normally flies, then make sure you change club to one that takes the trouble out of play, as displayed in this graphic. While you’ll have a slightly longer shot to the green, you’ll greatly reduce the chance of a big number.

Know your numbers
Of course, key to all of this is knowing how far each of your woods carries. If you’re looking to add more distance and control to your game, come and test the TaylorMade M4 driver, M4 fairway and M4 hybrid. If you have a fitting we can hit all three in a range of different specifications until we find your ideal set-up for the course.

Which model is best for you?

Spotlight: Callaway Chrome Soft TruVis

If you were a fan of the previous generation TruVis, which helped to increase focus and visibility by maximising your view of the golf ball, then you're going to love this.
