EuroPro Week Is Nearly Upon Us
One of the highlights of the calendar year is nearly here and again we've had fantastic response from members and volunteers to help make the week special for the players!
This year we have the added bonus of a Par 3 tournament and of course the hole in one challenge for both Pro's and club members (see below). The pro's are shooting for £100,000 or £1000 for a nearest the Pin and we are all looking forward to seeing the additional programme being broadcasted simply for the Par 3 competition and no doubt our Par 3 course will achieve further national recognition for the quality of the newly built course.
As always, we have a lot of home interest with professionals Steve Surry, Will Brown, Alex Jacobs, Louis Boston juniors members James Cooper & Joe Retford, and amateurs Danny Clayton & Jamie Li all representing the club. A great opportunity for them to make a name for themselves around a home club.
A fully booked pro-am kicks off the week on Monday, and the tournament starts Wednesday morning and is of course free to everyone to come on up and spectate, the more the better! We will of course report back next week with the results.
EuroPro Hole In One Members Shoot Out
With just over two weeks until our annual EuroPro event, we have an exciting event taking place on Tuesday 27th June. Following the Professionals Par 3 competition, we are holding a 'Members Hole in One Shootout' before the 26 EuroPro players take on their Hole in One challenge for £100,000!
We have strictly 150 attempts at the challenge between 4pm & 6pm and spaces are to be booked through reception. At £12 per member, there will be donations to each of the captain's charity, a hog roast and of course some amazing prizes for the three nearest the Pin's including and a Mazda MX5 for a hole in One prize. This event is not to be missed!
For further details, click here, spaces are booked on a first come first served basis and must be booked with reception in advance.
Members 'Adopt A Green' Scheme
The club has put in place a simple scheme to help reduce the amount of pitch marks left unrepaired on the greens which we are hoping will see a huge reduction of pitch marks on the putting surfaces.
Each member will be allocated a hole on each of the five nines and we ask that on 'your' green when playing we would be grateful if you could repair an extra 2/3 pitch marks paying special attention to any par 3's you may be allotted. This alone would make such a difference to the surfaces all year round. To see which greens you have been allocated, simply follow the chart below to see where your surname falls.
Congratulations to Andy Higham, Damien Moran, Len Savage, Gavin Stirrup and Stu Cowper on winng their respective divisions in June medal two, a full list of results can be found here.
Simon Benton also scored an impressive 42pts in the qualifying stableford, click here for the results.
Saturdays stableford results can be found here and please click here for Sundays.
