SLIPPERY STAIRS & SERGIO'S SUNDAY!! 

An eventful Masters with lots to enjoy and lots to talk about, with the surprise withdrawal of Dustin Johnson, the event was blown right open and what a Sunday it produced!! Our pick of Fitzpatrick flew out the blocks on Thursday, but couldn't continue it for the four days and what a showing from a European perspective. New kids on the block John Rahm and Thomas Pieters showing they have all the skills to tackle Augusta and surely going to be welcome strength to a Ryder Cup team next year! 

But it was the battle between Rose & Garcia that had us all on the edge of our seat! Emotionally it was a tough one to choose, Rose the Englishman and brilliant ambassador for English golf, and Garcia in his 47th start in a major deserved to be called a major champion, simply because of his major talent in the game!! 

Needless to say, on what have been Seve's 60th birthday, Garcia (after a few dodgy putting strokes) got over the line at the 19th hole and I haven't met a single person who isn't delighted (including Paul who had a fiver each way on him!!) 

Rose will get his chance again and already with a major under his belt, I'm sure he'll quickly get over his near miss. 

A great turnout at the weekend in the Cifer events, 110 single entries on a foggy Saturday and 43 pairs on Sunday, the start of the season is upon us and long may this weather continue!


  

Alex Cowey took the Cifer Singles with a super 76, nett 66 on Saturday, winning £62.00 and in the pairs Cifer Challenge, Tom Beckenham and Jake Meredith won with 46 points and took home £52 each. Well done guys!

Summer Medal

The first summer medal will be held on Saturday, 15 April. Red and Yellow.

St Georges Day Trophy

The St Georges Day Trophy will be held on Saturday, 22 April. The format of the day will be a four ball better ball. Please make sure you enter on the notice board. 

Summer knockouts is now open for entries. See main competition board and please pay in the pro shop on entry.

 

Curry Night - Friday, 14 April 2017

Curry night at Cumberwell Park is back. We are holding a curry night on Friday, 14 April at 7:30pm. A huge selection of curry's, rices and side dishes will be available. Priced at just £15.00 per person including coffee and dessert, to book please see reception or call 01225 862332.

Easter Sunday Lunch 

On Sunday, 16 April we will have a lovely three course meal for Easter Sunday. The price will be £22.50 per person. Booking's being taken with the front desk. 

Junior Fun Days - Easter Holidays

 We have a couple of Junior Fun Days on Tuesday 18th April - Open to all beginner or improver junior golfers - At a price of £27.50 for the day, including lunch in the clubhouse. To book, contact the proshop here.

This is Titleist's new initative and over seven Thursdays throughout the Summer, the experts from Titleist will be here to host a state of the art demo day for members and guests to try their  NEW product using TrackMan and Pro V1 range balls.

This is an event run and hosted by Titleist and booking are to be made through their website, www.titleist.co.uk/thursdays.
