BEST CAREER FINISH FOR LAURIE CANTER IN SOUTH AFRICA
While all the talk was about Rory and his new equipment, we had our eye on Laurie Canter and his first main tour event of 2017. He certainly didn't disappoint, chalking up a Top 15 with rounds of 69, 66, 71, and 71 to finish at 11 under par. We even manage to squeeze a bit of TV coverage out of Sky Sports!! A result that can only be good for his confidence and some early Euro's on the order of merit too. Huge congrats to Laurie, look forward to following his progress. Another big story was local lad Jordan Smith from Chippenham, who as you may have noticed has our very own Harry Bird on the bag. He led his man Jordan to a 3rd place finish, going toe to toe with Rory on the final day. Another one to look out for!!

ONE EPIC CALLAWAY DEMO DAY COMING UP
As usual with Callaway, we are the first in the queue for a demo day and have Callaway booked in for SATURDAY 28TH JANUARY - ALL DAY - the day after the official launch of the self confessed Epic Driver - at it really is!! Early tests show phenomenal ball speeds and a great ability to fit to spin rates - Has to be tried.
The new range of woods alongside their brilliant iron range including the popular steelhead iron, this is going to be another 'epic' demo day (sorry about that one)

ST. ANDREWS FOURSOMES - SATURDAY 28TH JANUARY 2017
The annual competition opener, the St. Andrews foursomes is always a popular format for this time of year. Enter in pairs on the notice board in the clubhouse. All players must have a competition active handicap. The event is played on the Red & Yellow course - £10 per pair - payable on the day - Tee times will be drawn between 7:56 & 11:24.
DEEREST TROPHY - SUNDAY 12TH FEBRUARY 2017
Mixed pairs of foursomes will play the Red & Orange using ½ combined handicap. Green fees reduced by 50% - Enter on the mixed notice board - Times will be drawn from 10:04.
BATH RUGBY COACHES AND PLAYERS Q&A EVENING - TUESDAY 24TH JANUARY 2017 - 7pm
Cumberwell is hosting a unique evening that will feature several top coaches & players at Bath Rugby for a Questions & Answers evening over a Curry. Featuring head coach Todd Blackadder, Darren Edwards, Guy Mercer & Matt Banahan.
