PING DEMO DAY - Friday 19th August 2016
For the first time in a couple of years, we are hosting a PING Demo Day running between 10am and 2pm. PING have always been at the forefront of club fitting and offer such a great range of equipment and to have the PING technicians offering their expertise will be an opportunity not to be missed.

ANOTHER RECORD PRO-AM!!
53 teams took part in our second Pro-Am of the year in association with the West Region PGA and sponsored by Lansdown Mazda, a record entry this year on the PGA West Region.
With glorious sunshine and a superb course set-up, all 212 players had a great day and were all very well looked after.
The scoring was terrific with attached professional Laurie Canter leading the way with a super bogey free 65, good enough for a one shot win! Home professionals Paul Morss and Ben Lloyd both returned scores of 68 and led their teams to 2nd and 4th respectively. John Jacobs carded a score of 71 and accompanied with son Alex Jacobs, Derek Rose & Ross Thompson carded a total of 85 for the team.
The event is followed by the West Region Players Championships played over the Red & Yellow with some of the finest players in the region. We will fill you in with results next week.
FRIDAY MORNING LADIES ROLL-UP
Paul Morss runs a ladies group lesson on Friday mornings which run between 11:15am and 12:15am. The lessons content varies each week and is aimed at high handicappers and ladies working towards a handicap. To book a space call the shop on 01225 862332 or click here. Sessions cost £10.
CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS ENTRY - NOW OPEN!!
The entries are now open for the biggest club trophy of the year, The Men's Club Championships held on Saturday 20th & Sunday 21st August 2016.
The event is open to all male members with an active handicap and encompasses the Gross Club Championship & the Adam Jack Trophy, the Handicap Championship.
Played over 36 holes over the weekend on the Red & Yellow course from the Green Tees, it's a real test of golf and always a very popular event. With divisional nett prizes, it offers something for all.

JOE RETFORD WINS THE JUNIOR CLUB CHAMPS IN PLAYOFF!
Last weekend saw the annual junior club championships take place on the red and yellow courses. The course was in superb condition and the weather matched. After the first day the scores were tight at the top, James Cooper scoring a gross 74 and Joe Retford scoring a gross 73. It was between the 2 for the gross title on the Sunday, however Jess Hays and Jamie Davies, had great scores and they took the nett prizes. James and Joe battled it out all day; Joe Retford birdied the last to force a playoff. The playoff consisted of 3 holes, 1, 2 and 9 on the Red; Joe came out victorious winning by 2. Many congratulations to him!
LAURA CURTIS QUALIFIES FOR WEE WONDERS FINAL AT ST. ANDREWS
12 year old Laura Curtis qualified for the grand final of the Wee Wonders at St. Andrews, Scotland. She qualified at Radyr Golf Club and will represent Cumberwell on the 27th & 28th August. Well done Laura and all the best in the final!!
JUNIOR FUNDAYS IN SUMMER HOLIDAYS
We have 5 dates for Junior days in the upcoming summer holidays. These days are aimed for 7-14 year olds. We start at 10am and finish at 3pm and activities include range work, short game and a few holes on the course. We supply refreshments and lunch as well. Dates are:

- Tuesday 2nd, August
- Tuesday 9th August
- Tuesday 16th August
- Tuesday 30th August
