CALL FOR CUMBERWELL PARK CASUAL TEAM!

Attention Cumberwell members, this year cumberwell park will be running a Men's 10 man team playing in the Wiltshire league playing against other clubs in Wiltshire at different venues.

It is a great opportunity to play other courses and meet members. The atmosphere is relaxed and there isn't pressure on the matches. To show your interest please contact the Club captain Elect Pete Trevor on ptmasonryltd@hotmail.com 


 

The Course has improved massively over the past week with the dry and sunny weather helping dry out the fairways and rough. This weekend saw all 4 courses open a massive thanks to the green staff for allowing this to happen! We have allowed electric trolleys back out however only with winter hedgehog wheels to still try and protect the course, we hope to up and running as normal very soon. MIXED TEXAS SCRAMBLE

Come and support our Club Captain and our Seniors, Ladies and Juniors captains in our annual mixed Texas Scramble on Sunday 20th March. This is a modified Scramble played in teams of either three or four (depending upon numbers).

The Members' committee sponsors this event - to supplement the prize fund, so it's one not to be missed! Tee times will be from 11:00 to 12:12 followed by prize presentation and hot food in the Wraxall Room. The entry fee is £7.50 (Adults) and £5.00 (Juniors) , to include the meal. Pay on the Day. Just enter on the various Section Notice Boards and you will be allocated to a team. To enter by email please contact Mark Symonds [mark.symonds@plumbase.com].

The Captains will perform their drive-ins on that day and present winners with their prizes etc. The weather forecast for 20th March is wall to wall sunshine!

START OF JUNIOR ACADEMY

March the 14th will be the first Junior Academy Session of the year! With both age groups nearly full it's sure to be good fun for all! The Junior Academy runs every Monday after school during term time and takes juniors through every area of the game including some playing time throughout the year playing for the Eclectic competition.

The academy membership runs from March to October and requires registration before the first session, so if you would like anymore information, please speak to Ben, Paul or Alex in the shop. For full information, please click here.

JUNIOR FUN DAYS - EASTER HOLIDAYS

We have a couple of Junior Fun Days scheduled for the Easter half term. The days are always popular and a fun way to give golf a try and open to all ages and abilities. The dates are:

- Tuesday 29th March - 10am-3pm
- Monday 4th April - 10am - 3pm

The coaching day will cover short and long game with a lunch in the clubhouse and a few holes on the course in the afternoon. Please call 01225 862332 to book your pace and lunch choices. Space are limited and charged at £27.50 per child.

 

IT'S PORK WEEK!

Following on from last week's successful Steak week, Cumberwell are having a Pork themed week! Finishing this Sunday we have a loin of pork served with braised red cabbage and pear and sauté potatoes followed Sticky Toffee Pudding with Custard, all for ONLY £10.95!!

Simply order up at the bar and you are in for a treat!! We will let you know what next weeks 'special' will be!! 

CURRY NIGHT @ CUMBERWELL PARK

Our first Curry Night is to be held on Friday 4th of March 2016. On the evening you will be able to try 6 different varieties of curries and a huge selection of sides. It starts at 7.30pm and is priced at £12 per person. Booking is required so PLEASE CALL 01225 863322 to reserve your table! Hope to see you all there! Of course the bar will be open to help wash down the curry!  

DISCOVER GOLF IN ONE DAY!

On Tuesday the 22nd of March we are running a discover golf in one day aimed at new or inexperienced golfers, no equipment required. Two PGA Coaches will run the day. Lunch provided, No dress code, sensible footwear & warm clothing recommended. The day will start at 10:00 and run through to 15:00.

TAYLORMADE DEMO DAY!

On Saturday the 19th of March we will be holding a TaylorMade Demo day from 10am to 2pm; this is a fantastic opportunity to try the new TaylorMade product and the M family! We will have all TaylorMade products with all the different shaft options and head options to try so we will have something for you!

A TaylorMade fitting technician will be on hand to give you advice and guidance as well as the Professionals from Cumberwell Park. You will be fitted using a Trackman 3 that will give you specific numbers from what the club is doing through the swing and what ball is doing through the shot, so you will see the difference the new product will be making to your game!

NEW ADIDAS CLOTHING AND SHOES ARRIVED IN STORE!

This year's adidas clothing and shoe range are superb! They have introduced new styles to their shoe range including the tour360 Boost incorporating the tour 360 shoe and the adipower boost shoe from last year's range, making it a very comfortable and well-designed shoe. They have updated the Adicross shoe with a different style and different colour ways making it even better! The new TRX Shoe, which is very similar to the pure 360 however a fraction of the price is a great looking shoe!!
