MEDALLIST RESULTS
The final event of the Medallist Trophy was held at the weekend with the Top 50 battling it out to be crowned the 'Race to the Medallist' champion!
Each of the Top 50 from the order of merit were invited to play in the event and the points were then reset based on their final finishing position in the order of merit.
The event was played on the Red & Blue and we had some fantastic scores with the standout one on the day being Neil Warne who returned a gross 78 off 15 giving a nett 63!! However, the winning overall player this year was Andy York playing off 5 and entering the final medal in a tied for 2nd, under the pressure of the final event Andy scored a nett 71, finishing in 6th for the day and good enough to take the overall win!!
A great result Andy and well done!! Thanks to everyone who took part over the course of the year, we had another increase in numbers with 332 different competitors taking part in medals throughout the year!!
We will see if Andy can defend his title next year!!
As you will see, we had the conclusion of the 'Race to the Medallist' and this year Andy York took the title, and I hope you will all agree, it's been another successful event that's generated a lot of interest in the medals throughout the season and in turn higher entries.
This year we had 332 different individual medal entries, up from 318 in 2014. In addition to this, the number of total entries was up 8% on 2014, considering that included a medal with just 23 entries this year, that's a great result. The final medallist results are already on the website or you can click here.
