Men's Club Championships - enter in Proshop
The entry list is now up in the Proshop for the Men's Club Championship. The two day event will be played On Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th of August. We can also enter your name on the phone if you're unable to make it up to the club 01225 862332. Entry is £15.00 payable on the day.
SPECIAL OFFER - PRO V1'S!!!
With the Club Championships looming, we have a special on a limited number of Titleist Pro V1's and Pro V1 X's!! Normally £40 per dozen or £12.50 a sleeve, these balls have 'Club Champs' printed on and are just £35 per dozen. Get them while they're available because they won't last long!
SUMMER BALL @ CUMBERWELL PARK - FRIDAY 14TH AUGUST
We have a Black tie Summer Ball event here at Cumberwell on Friday 14th August. With a 7:15pm for 8:00pm start, the evening kicks off with Pimms & Canapés in the celebration garden and a buffet from 8pm. The evening's entertainment is provided by Purple Fish and is going to be a great event. Tickets are priced at £28 per person and are purchased from reception.
JUNIOR SECTION WIN INAUGURAL GENERATIONS CUP
This year saw the first annual 'Generations Cup' between the seniors and juniors, the two teams consisted of 10 players and they played Four Ball Better Ball in pairs. Captains Alex Jacobs and Richard Body battled it out in the first match accompanied by Myles Edwards and Ian Clements, the juniors took the first point winning 3&2, much to Richards's disappointment.
However the seniors got a point back in the second match with Eric Gibbs and Phil Baker beating Will Doust and Joe Retford 2&1. The next couple of matches were won by the juniors meaning they took the trophy 3 points to 2. The competition was thoroughly enjoyed by all and will be a great event for future years.
CUMBERWELL PARK JUNIORS WIN WILTSHIRE LEAGUE!
For the second year running, the Cumberwell Park junior team were crowned champions of the Wiltshire league. After an undefeated season the guys finished with a home victory against North Wilts winning 6/0 on Saturday. The team captained by Alex Jacobs will now advance to the regional finals in September, where they will compete against the other victorious clubs in the South West. The six man team has changed during the season, but with such a strong selection of players, the team has no missing link. The team has consisted of the following players:
Alex Jacobs (4), Myles Edwards (4), James Cooper (1), Dom Walter (4), Joe Retford (5), Will Doust (6), James Cox (21), Sarah Cheverton (10), Tom Beckenham (14), Paris Sandford (23), Jake Brookes (19).
A massive well done to all the juniors, and a big thank you to Martin Cooper who helps run the junior section and has provided transport for the team. Good luck in the regional finals, we will keep you posted on their progress.
BIG WEEK FOR TWO CUMBERWELL JUNIORS
Two of our promising young juniors head up to Preston GC this week to play in the English U'14's championships, the Reid Trophy. 14 year old Joe Retford (5) and 13 year old Dom Walter (4) start in a strong field with juniors taking part from all over Europe.
Both players have been on fine form this year with Joe bringing his handicap down from 8 at the start of the year and little start Dom picking up the SW Boys Championships, Runner up in County Boys and winning the individual last week in the Junior Team shield by 4 shots… Pretty special considering he was the youngest player in the field!!

We have scheduled four Junior Fun Day's for this years summer holidays and are always very popular. The dates we have booked in are

Tuesday 25th August - 10am - 3pm
Each day is priced at £27.50 and you can book in for as many as you would like to attend. The coaching days will cover some long and short game coaching, lunch in the clubhouse followed by a few holes on the course. Pick up a form in the ProShop, or call 01225 862332 to book.
