A very Merry Christmas from the pro shop!!
Firstly, John and the pro shop team would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!
We thank you all for your custom during 2014 and we look forward to helping you all in 2015!! Another exciting year ahead, the new course talking shape in front of us and lots of great events to look forward to, it's a great time to be here at Cumberwell Park.
120 golfers all in for the Turkey
Over 120 golfers took part on Saturday as the Turkey Trot made its triumphant return to the fixture list! A fun event that was aimed at all sections of the club was generously supported by Neil Hooper of Church Farm Meats (Broughton Gifford) who presented a beautiful Turkey to each member of the winning team.
Fortunately the weather was on our side and that helped us squeeze an extra few minutes of daylight (which was greatly needed) and we just managed to get the last group back in daylight.
The event was resoundingly won by fourball Mike Hiskens, Adam Fliegel, Tom Mcilroy (no relation) and Ben Leach, who carded a superb 87 points 4 clear of the field, enjoy the Turkey guys!!
In 2nd place, 2 points clear of the rest was the classic fourball of Gerry & Tom Clements, Keith Ritch and Larry Davis, well done guys!

A final notable moment of the day was ANOTHER HOLE IN ONE from the 'Golfer of the Year' young Dom Walter. His second ace came again on the 13th hole, fortunately being only 12; his bar bill was very very small!! Well done Dom!
Ladies fancy dress roll up!!
Ladies captain Fiona Thomas led her section in style with a nine hole fancy dress Monday morning roll up and it's safe to say, they all got well into the Christmas spirit!!
With over 5 Santa's, several elves, a moose, 2 reindeer, an angel, a Christmas tree, a star, a clown and a holiday crocodile??... To mention a few of the more notable outfits!! A great effort by everyone!!
Did you spot a famous face on Sunday??
Some of you may have spotted a famous face on Sunday as John Jacobs' South West Boys Squad were treated to a morning with European Tour winner Chris Wood. The Bristol based golfer was good enough to spend a few hours with the boys talking through his work ethic as a junior, opportunities and life on tour. A thoroughly nice guy who practiced his socks off to get where he is today!!
New Tom Tom GPS watch - what a hit!! More now in stock!
The NEW Tom Tom watches arrived last week and they didn't disappoint! They look fantastic with the slim screen, and are very comfortable with lots and lots of useful data on an easy to view screen!
We sold our first allocation within a few days and fortunately have just taken delivery of 6 more watches, all with black straps and are sure to sell quickly, particularly with Christmas fast approaching.

New Titleist demo product starts to arrive!!
We've managed to secure some early Demo product from Titleist including two of the NEW 915 Drivers, one 3 wood and one hybrid. Following this we will have some more head and shaft options and a full range of iron fitting components.

Junior Christmas Fun day & Party!!
Monday 22nd December - Don't Miss It!!
We are putting on a children's Christmas Fun Day on Monday 22nd December. The day will be open to all juniors and include some swing coaching on the range in the morning, followed by party food upstairs in the clubhouse and plenty of fun & games!! The day will start at 10am and finish at 2:30pm and priced at £27.50 per child . Christmas jumpers & hats will be a standard requirement.
Cumberwell Quiz Night
Friday 30th January 2015
The Cumberwell Quiz is back in the New Year and booking are being taken at reception. Teams of six will battle it out to become quiz champions. At just £8 per person which includes a lasagne or curry, it's going to be a packed house. Call 01225 862332 to book, or see reception when next up.
