Parker & Gumbleton win in the Gales!

After a dreadful forecast all week, the Wood Trophy went off without any rain, but lots and lots of wind! That being the said, the scoring was fantastic with 7 guys at 6 under par or better! It was countback which separated the winning two pairs. Gary Gumbleton & Simon Parker pipped Paul Banahan & Dave Kirkland to the win, even Dave’s chip in on the last couldn’t quite get them over the line.

It's that time of year

Winter Rules are now in operation, so balls may be marked, lifted and cleaned on all closely mown areas. In addition, relief may be taken from plugged balls anywhere through the green. The ball may be lifted, cleaned and dropped without penalty.

Driving range balls & baskets

These items are the property of Cumberwell Park. Their sole use is for the driving range. Under no circumstances can these items be taken away from the club, or to be used on other parts of the facilities. These include the course, short game area and par 3 course.

Golfers should use their own balls when practicing on the short game area.

Members ‘Adopt a Green’ scheme

The club has put in place a simple scheme to help reduce the amount of pitch marks left unrepaired on the greens which we are hoping will see a huge reduction of pitch marks on the putting surfaces.

Each member will be allocated a hole on each of the five nines and we ask that while on ‘your’ green we would be grateful if you could repair an extra 2/3 pitch marks, paying special attention to any par 3s you may be allotted. This alone would make such a difference to the surfaces all year round.
