A NEW MEDALLIST CHAMPION!
The final event of the Medallist Trophy was held on Saturday, where 42 of the final 50 played against each other to be crowned the Medallist Champion. With huge points available it was anyone's title!
Each of the Top 50 from the order of merit were invited to play in the event and the points were then reset based on their final finishing position in the order of merit. The format was an 18 hole medal over the Red and Yellow courses.
The scoring was very good but the outstanding one of the day was 16 year old James Cooper who shot a gross 68! He took the most amount of points available on the day and finished 3rd overall. Stu Southan who had dominated the other medals throughout the year unfortunately slipped away in the last event and finished 5th. However Tom Beckenham took the title with a superb nett 69 and won by 1000 points! It was a great event enjoyed by all and thanks to everyone who supported it and to the Sponsors Plumbase for their contribution.

Rising star Toby Clark took the title on Saturday over a strong junior field. The championship was played over 6 holes on the Orange course. 9 year old Toby blew the field away with a gross 23 winning by 5 shots!! The event was very well supported with 31 juniors playing. Another congratulations goes to Tom Richens who won the most improved golfer over the course of the year. The academy has now finished for the year so thanks to all juniors and their parents for the support and we look forward to next year.
JUNIOR MAKES HOLE IN ONE FIRST TIME HE HAS PLAYED!
George Owen (11 years old) played for the first time on a golf course with his dad Greg Owen last Saturday on the new par 3 course. He then did something amazing, with the first hole just over 100 yards he used his 8 iron and hit his shot straight into the hole! A superb achievement for him and a record breaking moment!
