ANOTHER CHALLENGING TEST FOR PRO'S DAY!!
Some interesting pin positions were on display at the weekend on the Par 3's posing quite a challenge to everyone who took part in Pro's Day! The yellow flags carried double points and all four scores were to count meaning a lot of strategy was needed on the short holes.
Not only that, each player had to use a yellow ball on each of the Par 3's carrying triple points!! A complicated format, but a fun one that really split the scoring! The par for the team event was actually 128 (after hours of calculations!) and the closest to get to this was one of the Pro's teams, Ben Lloyd, Alex Jacobs, Will Brown and Ali James who scored 126 points and for the first time in a few years, one of the Pro's team had the best total.
The later Pro's team of John Jacobs, Paul Morss, Alex Blewett and Steve Surry returned with 121 points.
In first place for the amatuers was the team led by the in form Simon Benton who scored 125 points was Pete Beckenham, Pete Saunders & Stuart Mitchell. They scored a massive 20 points on the 26th to secure the win on count back!
In second place was Nick Korynevsky, Chris Maskrey, Dan Fowler & Russell Whatley who also had 125 points, but just missed out on countback.
Each player received a sleeve of Titleist NXT Tour balls and we hope you all enjoyed the format and it's variation this year.
In addition to the main competition, we had a Scotty Cameron putting competition, where individuals used a Scotty Cameron of their choice and the winning score, win the putter, pretty lucrative!! We had a three way tie between Dom Walter, Mick Garfield & Gary Standen. We will arrange a three way sudden death playoff to see who takes the putter!
Thanks again to everyone who supported the event!
