LUKE AYRTON'S CLEAN SWEEP AT CHAMPS!! 

Cumberwell CST member Luke Ayrton claimed his first Club Championships in extremely tough conditions. With wind howling all day Saturday and rain affecting both days also, the course stood up to the 107 players who took part. The course was superb and greens in fantastic condition nut it was the wind that posed the problems! 

Leading after the first day were Paul Matthews & Richard Maunder who both carded brilliant scores of 71 level par, one clear of Ayrton who started with a 72. James Cooper scored a 76 after a shaky front nine. Second day saw the rain and some of the front runners had tough starts! Matthews & Maunder scoring 80 & 79 respectively, Cooper bouncing back with a fine 72, but it was Ayrton who showed consistency, 72, followed by a brilliant 73, good enough for a 3 shot victory over the field and good enough for the Club Championship trophy, along with the Adam Jack Handicap Trophy! 

Notable scores: 

Simon Benton with 79 & 74 - finishing 5th overall 
Danny Clayton - 72 best gross 2nd day 
Tom Mcilroy - Best 2nd day nett - 69 
Jim Burbidge - Most improved score - 16 shots! 

Thanks to the green keepers for getting the course in such good condition again and everyone who took part over the weekend.

JUNIOR FUNDAYS IN SUMMER HOLIDAYS - ONE LEFT 

We have our final junior fun day in the upcoming summer holidays. These days are aimed for 7-14 year olds. We start at 10 am and finish at 3.00pm and activities include range work, short game and a few holes on the course. . We supply refreshments and lunch as well. Dates are:

Our ANNUAL PRO'S DAY EVENT is booked in for Saturday 17th September and the team event is always a popular one. We've already started work on the format and this year will be one of our best yet with a superb prize table, putting and short game competitions and a few fun twists!
